Five places to go after the first request

Newest models, Discover, rankings, Activity, and the two routing controls.
OpenRouter ( openrouter.ai?utm_medium=email&utm_source=customerio )
Hi Russell,
*************************************************
Five surfaces, and the question each one answers.
*************************************************
One key reaches all of them. This is the short map of where to go once the first request works, ordered by the question you are most likely to ask next.
Browse the newest models ( openrouter.ai/models?order=newest&utm_…customerio )
What arrived recently
The catalog sorted by newest ( openrouter.ai/models?order=newest&utm_…customerio ) is the fastest read on whether a decision you already made is still the right one. Every row carries price, context window and modalities, and GET /api/v1/models returns the same data as JSON when you want to diff it in a script.
What can do this modality
Discover ( openrouter.ai/discover?utm_campaign=on…customerio ) groups models by what they are for rather than by who made them, and it covers image, video, audio and embedding models alongside text. Use it when the constraint is the input or output type rather than the score.
What is being used for this task
Rankings ( openrouter.ai/rankings?utm_campaign=on…customerio ) shows share of spend by task type across OpenRouter traffic, plus third-party benchmark scores on each model page. Both are context for a decision, not a substitute for testing on your own prompts.
What that request actually did
Activity ( openrouter.ai/activity?utm_campaign=on…customerio ) charts spend, tokens and requests by model and key. Logs ( openrouter.ai/logs?utm_campaign=onb-v6…customerio ) holds the individual generations. And every API response already carries a usage object with the cost of that one request, with no extra parameter.
What to control before production
Two documents cover almost all of it. Model fallbacks ( openrouter.ai/docs/guides/routing/mode…customerio ) is a list of models tried in order when the first errors. Provider routing ( openrouter.ai/docs/guides/routing/prov…customerio ) decides which endpoints are eligible in the first place, including data-policy and zero-retention constraints.
The same key works across every surface above.
Text, images, audio, video and embeddings all run through the same account and the same billing, so trying a new modality is a slug change rather than a new integration. The quickstart ( openrouter.ai/docs/quickstart?utm_camp…customerio ) has the request shapes.
